Week of May 21-25, 2017

Reading:  Our new story is called “Alistar and Kip’s Great Adventure.” This is an animal fantasy about a dog and a cat. They build a boat and sail to the sea.  We will use the plot of this story to discuss how friends can work together to build things. Our amazing words are: gathered, drifting, island, distant, voyage, and aboard. The sight words we will focus on are: for, my, of, we, and yellow.

Math: Our kindergarten math lessons are complete! We are beginning our “Step Up to First Grade” Lessons. These topics introduce skills the children will see next year.

 Important News:
~ Kindergarten Graduation will be held on Tuesday, May 22nd in the High School Auditorium at 1:00pm.  Doors will open at 12:45. Please keep in mind that hairstyles should accommodate a graduation cap. The children will be walking up and down steps to the stage, along with standing on risers. Please plan shoe styles accordingly.

~ Friday, May 25th is Carnival Day. Please make sure your child is wearing socks and sneakers along with shorts for this fun-filled day of activities.  Don’t forget the sunscreen!
