Week of May 23-27, 2016

We are wrapping up the year quickly. Kindergarten Graduation will take place this week. Please refer to the note sent home regarding procedures for the event.

This week’s Reading story is “Alistar and Kip’s Great Adventure.” This trade book is an animal fantasy that discusses how friends can build together. The amazing words presented are: gathered, drifted, island, distant, voyage, and aboard. We will be practicing plot, rhyme, and writing questions.
Phonics: The initial and medial Uu sound will be reviewed this week.

In Math we will continue to introduce 1st Grade math topics.

Reminders:
~ 15 students know all 96 sight words. We are very proud of their accomplishment! I do believe the other 7 classmates can also meet this goal. Please keep practicing!
~ Tuesday, May 24th is Kindergarten Graduation at 6:00pm in the high school auditorium.
~ Carnival Day will be held on Friday, May 27th.
~ There will be no school on Monday, May 30th.
