Week
of January 9-13, 2017
Reading: This week we will enjoy an
animal fantasy called “Farfallina and Marcel.” This touching story about a
duckling and a caterpillar helps the students understand how some animals
change as they grow. The story uses plot identification as the skill to
enhance comprehension.
Phonics: Ff is the letter of the week. The
initial and final /f/ sound will be practiced, as in the words fountain and
leaf.
Math: Topic 5 Begins this week. This
topic explores the numbers to 20. The
students will be counting, reading, and writing the numbers 11 through 20.
